CCAP Health & Safety Training Requirements 

To provide care as a CCAP approved provider, IDHS is now requiring that providers complete specific health, safety and child development training, have current CPR/First Aid certification, and complete annual training hours.

Who is required to take these trainings?


In Illinois, all center and home-based early childhood care and education providers participating in CCAP will have minimum training requirements. In order for a current provider to continue receiving CCAP payments, some trainings must be completed by September 30, 2017, and additional trainings must be completed by September 30, 2018. After this, annual training requirements will go into effect. *On August 15, 2018, IDHS announced that they had made revisions to the health and safety training requirements and released information about annual monitoring visit requirements. I don't have access to a computer, how can I complete online trainings?


If you need access to a computer or need assistance with online training, you can utilize our FREE computer lab here at Community Child Care Connection. Our lab is available by appointment OR you can attend any of our pre-scheduled open labs. How do I self report my trainings?


After you have completed your required trainings, you MUST self-report "CPR & First Aid" AND "Mandated Reporter to the registry. This process includes just a few easy steps. You can follow the directions on the flyer below or watch the videos for step-by-step instructions.

What if I can't afford the CPR and First Aid Course?


IDHS has approved funding to allow us to offer FREE CPR & First Aid courses to our providers. CLICK HERE to view dates and times for these sessions. Seats are limited, so register today!




How can I see which trainings I've already taken?
